Substitutions, hints and tips

With things missing on shelves, here are a few tips for substitutions or alternatives. Please add your own :)

Self raising flour - add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to 100g of plain flour

No eggs for a cake - use apple sauce; approx 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons of sauce per egg

Ooh thanks for the flour tip! I knew I’d seen something similar but couldn’t remember where or what :lol:
